Micro Sites
A microsite (also known as a minisite) acts as supplement content to larger online presence. A microsite is an effective way to showcase unique/distinctive content that needs to live outside of your main url, or to promote a time sensitive marketing initiatives like sweepstakes and events. A microsite is typically only one to four pages large and often attaches itself to a larger website via link-backs, banners and embedding techniques.
Microsites are cost effective because their production schedules are typically shorter than full website productions. Promotional campaigns can be pulled off of a main url, and dedicated to a smaller and more focused website, that acts as an interactive information instrument.
